Number Portability
All phone numbers offered by ePhoneNumbers are portable to any new or existing home phone, cell phone, or business phone service. Because we are not a phone company, all phone numbers purchased must be ported to a phone company of your choice in order for you to utilize the number.
What is Local Number Portability (LNP)?
Local number portability is the ability for a customer to change their local service provider, physical location, calling services, or phone number. Typically, number portability was designed for customers to be able to change service providers, without changing their phone number, but because of the Federal Communications Commission mandate, all phone numbers in the US must be portable, therefore providing the ability for you to purchase any phone number, and have it transferred to any service provider.
Consumer Porting/Transfer Process
The number transfer process takes an average of 10-30 business days from the time you purchase your phone numbers. Sometime the process can be quicker or slower depending on your carrier or other circumstances.
Porting Steps
1. Purchase the phone number of your choice
2. We set the number to forward to any number of your choice – Free of Charge (For 30 days)
3. We set the number to be ported and provide you with the necessary information and documentation
4. You contact your carrier and provide the information supplied to you from our porting department
